The Average Of The Five People | Morning ROAR V3.36

Summary:

You are the average of the 5 people you surround yourself with. Whether or not you realise it, the people that you surround yourself with set your standards. Sticking with people that tear you down is not conducive to success, while admirable individuals will elevate you directly or indirectly.

In This Episode…

  • Creating grander visions and ideas for our own futures
  • Building relationships that are healthy in your own personal growth.

Today’s ROAR Thought:

Above all, experience is everything. In business, it dictates whether or not your customer will continue doing business with you. In our personal lives, it is what makes people gravitate toward us or avoid us entirely. For the entrepreneur, these two areas of life interweave intimately; therefore it is important to always be a person that you’d like to interact with.

Become The Person You Want To Be | Morning ROAR V2.86

Summary:

On this episode of the Morning ROAR, we’ll highlight the unlikely story of Wilma Rudolph – a woman willing to put the work towards proving her capabilities as an athlete and as an individual.

In This Episode…

  • What obstacles was Rudolph forced to overcome? And more importantly, what was she able to accomplish once she decided that she would not be held back?
  • Not allowing others to determine what you can and cannot do.

Today’s ROAR Thought:

Wilma’s socioeconomic standing coupled with her physical elements could have easily dictated the entire course of her life; had she accepted that she would never walk normally (let alone run), things would be much different. Instead, she refused to be bound by limitations; because she believed in herself, she exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Think Less, Do More | Morning ROAR V2.75

Summary:

As much as it would be convenient, dreaming about what you’d like out of life isn’t effective. There is only one way to turn dreams into a reality; by taking initiative.

In This Episode…

  • Relating back to the lessons from Episode 162 regarding fitting in what means most to us
  • Why is the best course of action to tackle tasks as they come rather than waiting until tomorrow?

Today’s ROAR Thought:

Our challenges have a tendency of piling up on one another if they aren’t immediately confronted. It’s important that we take responsibility for our lives and put forward an effort to make our days the best they can be.

Happiness Is A Choice | Morning ROAR V2.65

Summary:

Unfortunately, misfortune is not evenly distributed among individuals. Some people must experience hardships beyond our wildest comprehension. However, each and every one of us has the power to create our own happiness – no matter what roadblocks may stand in our way.

In This Episode…

  • The story of two men with different ways of approaching and contemplating a dire situation.
  • Making the choice to be happy rather than waiting for happiness to fall into our laps.

Today’s ROAR Thought:

Waiting for the perfect circumstances is the least effective way of finding happiness. Take the initiative and create your own joy; this is how you will find lasting happiness.

Internal Change Is The Only Change You Can Make | Morning ROAR V2.58

Summary:

Do you find yourself getting annoyed at the ignorance of people surrounding you? While this is a natural reaction, consider adopting a different attitude rather than expecting others to change themselves; doing so may just make all of the difference in taking steps toward improvement.

In This Episode…

  • Finding empathy for the experiences and actions of others – even if we do not fully understand them
  • Setting aside our own judgements to make the world a better place.

Today’s ROAR Thought:

Although it’s easy to get irritated by the person talking on their cell phone in the movie theater or holding up rush hour traffic, it’s important to keep in mind that at some point another we ourselves may be the ones blocking traffic or talking in the theater. At the core of everything, we can never have the full context of why a person – especially a stranger – is behaving in a certain way. Sensitivity towards these individuals is a virtue worth holding onto.

BEST OF: Audit Your Action/Value Alignment | Morning ROAR V2.49

Hello everyone! The Morning ROAR team will be taking some time off to celebrate the holidays. Tune in starting January 2016 for new episodes! In the meantime, we will be highlighting the top performing episodes of the year. Thanks for listening!

Summary:

Adam discusses the benefits and difficulties in living an honest life and matching your every action with the values you hold closely.

In This Episode…

  • What similarities do unhappiness and contentment have with one another?
  • Why are most people discouraged from being their true self?

Today’s ROAR Thought:

It is a challenge to incorporate our core beliefs into every aspect of our being. Sometimes, being true to oneself is painful; some people will not like the real you. However, it is important to cherish who you really are; if you do not, you’re merely conforming to your environment and the people around you.

BEST OF: Man Is Made To Live, Not Plan To Live | Morning ROAR V2.47

Hello everyone! The Morning ROAR team will be taking some time off to celebrate the holidays. Tune in starting January 2016 for new episodes! In the meantime, we will be highlighting the top performing episodes of the year. Thanks for listening!

Summary:

On today’s segment, Adam examines an excerpt from Russian poet Boris Pasternak. Discussion revolves around taking action today rather than tomorrow.

In This Episode…

  • What did one of Russia’s most influential writers have to say regarding the human condition?
  • What risks do you face if you spend too much time planning each and every aspect of your day?

Today’s ROAR Thought:

The fact of the matter is, the only thing we’re guaranteed in this life is the present moment. Our time to spring into action is limited – therefore, it is important that we try to make our impact today rather than stall in favor of thinking about each and every outcome.
